Jennings Lake Fishing Guide

Lake Jennings, most scenic parks in all of San Diego County, located in Lakeside, CA that is 23 miles northeast of San Diego. Lake Jennings is an 85 acre lake and five miles of shoreline fishing. There is a single lane launch ramp available for $6.

Lake Jennings, a deep and clearwater reservoir, offers great fishing for Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Wipers, Rainbow Trout, Sunfish, Bluegill, Channel Catfish and Blue Catfish where you can fish from the shore or on a boat.

Fishing is only available to registered campers Monday - Thursday and limited to the shoreline area immediately adjacent to the campground facility.

The lake opens to the general public for fishing Friday through Sunday.

Shoreline fishing is available to registered campers only from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily by purchasing your Fishing Permit at the Campground Check-In Station.

Lake Jennings Fishing License & Permits

Lake Jennings fishing permits and California State fishing licenses are required prior to fishing.

These permits and licenses can be purchased at the Lake Jennings Bait & Tackle Shop and at the campground entrance station.

Lake Jennings Boats Rentals

  • Motorboats (4 or 6 horsepower) that can seat up to 5 people as well as rowboats are available for rental.
