Lake Mission Viejo (LMV) is a man-made reservoir created for recreation use (e.g boating, fishing, sailing, swimming, etc.) in South Orange County, California in the city of Mission Viejo, CA and built in 1975. The Lake Mission Viejo has an average depth of 30 ft. and a maximum depth of 70 ft., is about 125 acres and 5,280 ft. in length.
Fishing at Lake Mission Viejo is restricted to LMVA (Lake Mission Viejo Association) members and their guests. LMVA members must have their LMVA I.D. card visibly displayed while fishing and their guest may fish provided they first obtain and display a guest fishing pass. To rent a boat on the Mission Viejo Lake you will need to be a current and valid Lake Mission Viejo Association Membership card and membership (required) to rent a boat.
Mission Viejo Lake fishing boat fees as of 05/2019:
- Fishing Pontoon Boat - Holds 8 (21 yrs): $30/hr with a $30 Deposit*
- 15' Electric Boat - Holds 6 (16 yrs): $8/hr with a $8 Deposit*
*Prices are only good Monday - Thursday only. Regular rates charged Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Fish Per Day
Any combination of FOUR fish may be taken per angler per day. Each angler must place their fish catch on their OWN separate stringer and when limit is reached, all fishing must stop.
Rainbow Trout
Any combination of FOUR fish may be taken per angler per day. Each angler must place their fish catch on their OWN separate stringer and when limit is reached, all fishing must stop.
Fish including trout may ONLY be given away when done fishing for the day. Recipient of fish must stop fishing when in possession of the 4-fish limit.

Lake Mission Viejo is located in South Orange County in the city of Mission Viejo. The main cross streets are Marguerite Parkway and Olympiad Road and the easiest way to get to the lakes main access.
Prohibited Fishing Baits
No live aquatic baits including fish from the LAKE, goldfish, minnows, crayfish, salamanders or newts, etc.
No Snagging, Spearfishing, Nets or Traps
No Chumming (whether to attract fish or birds, keep all foods out of water!)
No Animal products including fish & fish roe, meats, hot dogs, etc.
