These rules are in place to reduce waterfowl injuries:

  • Catch-and-release for bass and sunfish.
  • Catch-and-keep for trout, catfish, and all other species.
  • Only single barbless hooks can be used.

Current fishing regulations and stocking schedules for the Water Ranch Fishing Lake are posted on site, and available though the Arizona Game and Fish website: AZGFD

Fishing is strictly prohibited in the basins and waterways of the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, as fish in these natural habitat areas are not stocked, but naturally occurring, and therefore protected from interference in order to support the wildlife within this unique ecosystem.
