Where to find Northern Pike?: Northern Pike can be found in North America in freshwater lakes, small to large rivers, creeks and backwaters from depths down to a 100 feet.
Northern Pike are usually at home around any type of aquatic vegetation.
Northern Pike Size: Northern Pike can be as big as 4.5 feet and weigh up to 62.5 lbs.
Northern Pike Fishing Tips: To catch Northern Pike use lures and bait like the following: LARGE spoons, spinners, plugs or waterdogs.

Since Northern pike have sharp teeth anglers prefer to fish using a wire leader to prevent the line from being cut when you land a Pike. Pike will bite through regular monofilament. 20 pound or 30-pound, 6-12-inches black wire leaders are standard when fishing for Northern Pike.
Also using a medium to heavy rod is also preferred.
In-Line Pike Spinners are a great choice and should be 1/6- to 1-ounce in size.
Pike Spoons are a great choice and should weighing ¼to 1 ounce.
