Los Vaqueros Lake Fishing Guide

Los Vaqueros Lake is a large 1,900 acre reservoir, with 13 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 170 feet that is a protected watershed that is located 10 miles north of Livermore in the San Francisco Bay area that offers great fishing for a variety of fish.

Los Vaqueros Lake offers great fishing for Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon, White Crappie, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Green Sunfish, White Catfish and Channel Catfish.

The best areas to fish on a boat are at the Peninsula, Cowboy Cove and Howden Cove

Los Vaqueros South Entrance offers shore fishing and the Marina is located there as well.

  • Black Bass (Largemouth Bass) - 5 (minimum length 12 inches)
  • Catfish - 10
  • Crappie - 25
  • Trout - 5
  • Salmon - 5
  • Striped Bass - 2 (minimum length 18 inches)

The Los Vaqueros Marina is located on the Los Vaqueros Reservoir’s south side near Livermore and offers and boat rentals, snacks, bait, and fishing licenses.
