Legg Lake Fishing Guide

Legg Lake (Whittier Narrows Recreation Area) is a 28 acre lake located, a series of three lakes that is surrounded by a 2.2 mile loop trail that is just 1.5 miles from South El Monte, in Los Angeles County.

Legg Lake offers great fishing for Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Tilapia, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish and Crap. Please note, that watercraft is not allowed on the lake.

Legg Lake stocks Rainbow Trout  during the winter months and Catfish is stocked during the summer months.

Please note that California Department of Fish and Wildlife rules apply. There’s no fishing license required for anglers under 16.

Legg Lake Fees

  • Parking fees: $3 per vehicle entry Monday - Friday; $5 Saturday - Sunday; Higher for some holidays and events (Fee Information)
