Fontana Lake  is the largest lake in Western North Carolina that's a 11,700 acre reservoir with over 240 miles of shoreline, that's 29-mile long, average depth of 135 feet, maximum depth of 440 feet, at an elevation 1700 feet and is located in Graham and Swain counties in North Carolina and provides the ideal habitat for a variety of fish and is one of the best smallmouth bass fishing lakes in the country.
