Chelan Lake Fishing Guide

Chelan Lake is known for its world-class fishing and is a very large freshwater lake that's narrow, 33,000 acre lake, 50.5-mile long lake, 140 miles of shoreline, with a depth of 1,486 feet of clear blue water.

Chelan Lake is located in Chelan County, north-central Washington state and is the largest natural lake in the state of Washington at an elevation of 1,102 ft.

Each year, Chelan Lake stocking programs release 100,000 Cutthroat and 500,000 Kokanee Salmon fingerlings into Lake Chelan.

Chelan Lake provides good shoreline access and a number of boat launches to fish.

Chelan Lake offers great fishing for Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Cutthroat, Chinook Salmon, Kokanee Salmon, Mountain Whitefish and Burbot.

  • Kokanee Salmon is usually best from mid-April through June.
  • Catchable-sized Cutthroat Trout are planted In June and July
