Carter Lake Fishing Guide

Carter Lake is an 1,100 acre-reservoir that is almost 3 miles long and one mile wide with a maximum depth of 180 feet at an elevation of 5,470 feet and located in the foothills and can be eaasily accessed from Loveland, Colorado

Carter Lake offers great fishing for Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Black Crappie, Cutbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish from the bank or from the boat.

Carter Lake Fishing Limits & Requirements

  • Walleye: Daily limit of 3 total (must be less than 21" or else immediately returned to the water)
  • Bass: Daily limit of 5 total (must be over 15" or else immediately returned to the water)
  • Trout: Daily statewide limit of 4 total (no size restriction)
