Buchanan Lake is 22,211 acres, 30 miles in length, over 4 miles wide, 124 miles of shoreline, has a maximum depth of 132 feet, is located on the Colorado River in Burnet County and Llano counties in Central Texas. Buchanan Lake is 60 miles northwest of Austin and 95 miles north of San Antonio

Lake Buchanan has five good boat ramps, four on the east side and one on the west side of the lake. There are two unimproved ramps at Lake Buchanan that are available at Cedar Point Recreation Area and at Colorado Bend State Park.

Buchanan Lake offers great fishing for Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Striped Bass and Catfish.
